You wanna watch the winds. Your best bet is to watch the wind and let it blow out of the north for a day or 2 or 3 before you go. My favorite beach area to fish is Mae's Beach. Cause most of the time, I don't even have to get into the water. You can throw a topwater plenty far enough from the sand. And there aren't any rock breakers. Last time I have been to the beach was last summer and I went solo, I caught 30 trout all on topwater on a white skitterwalk and never put my feet in the water. If not throwing topwater throw something in either chartreuse or opening night. (sand eels, cocahoes, flukes) If the water is dirty try Gulp products. 2nd choice would be to head east back to Holly Beach and fish the rock breakers around Little Florida or Constance Beach. Fish usually hold on either the west or east side of the breakers. Some days, the only way you can get em is if you crawl up on the rock breakers and cast straight into the gulf. But be careful and wear a good pair of shoes cause the rocks are very slippery. Good luck. If you want send me a PM when you are thinking about going and I will try and do my best to help you out.

X2 about Mae's. Talked to a guy that limited out yesterday by fishing it like that. He said he would drive around Maes and fish washouts and spots where the sand made a point, catch 2 or 3 fish then move. Most fish were caught from the sand. All on bone skidderwalk.

Yup last time I went I never moved. Caught em all in one spot. Thing I like about Mae's is you can cruise up and down the beach in a 4x4 and stop wherever you see the most bait activity.
