I think im just gonna buy the 7' one for now, all the 8' ones I seen were twice the price. So Im pretty sure im gonna get the seven and practice with it.

Cool - I like the 7ft a lot. When u get one, you can practice, practice, practice in your backyard as long as you can until you feel confidence in your technique cast net throwing with the 7ft then go out on the water then you won't throw it like a taco. Good Luck!

So after researching the nets for a while a guy made a pretty good point. he was using an 11ft net with 1/4" mesh. My first thought was what a,nightmare it eould be throwin in a school of Shad and having them get stuck in an 11ft net. But he says with the 1/4 they slide right out. It eould mean more culling but I find it would be easier to slide them back over then spend five minutes tryin to shake them out of my net. Just an extra thought if anyone else is researching nets

Well I got the 8ft. Wanted the 1/4" mess but had to settle for 5/8". Very pleased with it. I had to use a different technique than what I was using for my 5-6 but she opens alot better.makes wish I wouldve done this along time ago. Even being short throwing an 8ft is no problem. Hope this helps other people in the same boat
