Default Palmetto Island State Park

I have been involved in a lot of training the last couple of months and I'm final done with it for the year. Decided to take a camping trip with the family and we went to Palmetto Island State Park. I have to say it is a place that has all types of activities to do as a family. The park is very quite and clean and just a good place to set up a RV and relax and enjoy the outdoors. These are a couple of pictures of the park. There is just to much to list of the activities the park offers and nearby attractions. If you get a chance to make it down that way you will not regret it.

South of Abbeville on Hwy headed to Intracoastal City. They have cabins to rent and a boat launch with access to V Bay.

You take Hwy 82 South then turn on Hwy 690 ( Port of Vermilion Rd) and the Brown Signs will take you there.

You have to be careful there. A buddy of mine took his family there and he took pics of a family of pigs roaming the campground. He said there was pig sign all over that place... You how dangerous a sow with little ones can be!!

Cheers Camping

We were also there this weekend. THe place if VERY nice, I have pics of the pigs within 3 feet of me and my kids. They came out every morning and afternoon. THis is one of the nicest campgrounds around. The only problem was the dust. But besides that awesome.

They are about to shut the park down for 3 to 4 days so the state trapper can go in a try and bring the prok population down. I told them they just needed to let some coonass in there and they would take care of the pigs.
