Default Gas or electric
Fixing to build a house and was wondering. What's better gas or electric stove. We've never had a gas stove so don't know. I do like cooking on an old campIng stove but just don't really know what we should get.

If you will be running gas to the house regardless, definately a gas stove.

G A S !!!!! But a good gas range that has a true simmer not just where the flame comes on and off in bursts.

Gas with an electric oven, pro chefs use gas. I have a Kenmore Dual Fuel and I love it. Stainless finish, gas stove with an electric warmer on it, electric oven with convection. If I ever have to replace it I'm going with the same thing. The only thing i would do different is get all the same BTU burners if at all possible.

Gas you can cook when the lights are out, I would also get a gas water heater for the same reason.

Dual Fuel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gas top, electric oven.

Gas in the oven adds too much moisture for the type of stuff I cook, but depends on what you cook.

gas but be careful i bought what i thought was a nice gas stove and didn't read up on them. The burners have different btu's and if your big burner don't put out enough heat you are pissing in the wind trying to get stuff hot enough to brown your meat and stuff.

Like my electric range because it is super easy to clean. Deff wish I had a gas sometimes though. Convenience vs usefulness.

If you like to cook like i do ,It may be worth it to look at a pro set up.
or pro style. commercial stoves in home kitchens have been known to cause inspection problems. pro style gas ranges are made for home use and can reach double the btu of a normal gas stove.

Gas no question. I have an old gas stove at my house and I love it. My dad has a Wolfe 6 burner commercial with hood and heat lamps. That thing is a beast.
