![]() So I guess the biggest thing I'm screwing up is when to go. What's the best conditions/certain times of the month? I give up. What's the secret? Can someone help us out |

My boys went to Sorrel Sat night, they caught 2, that area gets hit pretty hard the 1st day or 2, they are just like anything else, they move back in the thick stuff when messed with.

I've been frogging 4 times with a friend of mine, the only 4 times I've ever been frogging. We caught over 200 every time out and were home by 1 A.M.
I guess the only thing I could say is you have to be where frogs are. We went on a lease in Dularge that's gated so I guess that has something to do with it. We didn't stay in the canals we worked the big ponds really hard thats where they seemed to be the most concentrated. |

Best advice I could give is when the basin is rising and falling frogs are constantly moving. Hit spots that at the current water level have not yet been hit. This can be difficult...
We catch most of our frogs in the middle of the swamp, not on banks. But as the hyacinth gets taller this becomes much much harder. As for best times, my favorite time is the first warm south wind blowing in February/March. However I've caught frogs in December and January for that matter... |

As stated before, you just have to be where the frogs are. I frog in bayous and canals that run through rice fields and freshwater marsh. Most of the marsh is not accessible by boat and is very overgrown so the marsh never gets frogged

Talked to a guy that caught 100 in the spillway one night last week.
He said they waded thru hyacinths in chest deep water to get to them. I don't want a frog that bad ![]() |
