Matt, I highly reccomend Chuck Mc Call @ Chumac Kennels. I believe he has contact information on Amite Hunting Retriever Clubs website.
Plan to spend a minimum of $500.00 pre month for most trainers and run from any that charge less than that. I would also find out what kind of equipment they utilize to train their dogs, brand of dog food, total number of dogs being trained and how long they have been training retrievers. Personnally, I would look to someone who has experience with preformance tests; hunt test or field trials since their standards and expectations tend to be much higher.
