Depends on what type of set up you like spinning, or open, lever drag or level wind. Personally I like a Shimano TLD 25 because of the lever drag so you can lock it down when you get a Ling on to get him out of the rig. The reel is pleanty big for the fish u listed. One thing to consider is if you are going to be casting or just mainly using live/dead bait or possibly vertical jigging. If you are going to cast then you would need something like mentioned above. The TLD is a good solid reel very dependable in the lower price range of it's style. And I personally like Star rods they make a good inexpensive combo.

I used a star paraflex (I think) jigging rod. It was pretty sweet
