I've got a couple of Coleman Extreme coolers that I bought when they first hit the market 5-10 years ago. They hold ice very well and are reasonably rugged. I haven't managed to damage either of them yet. I think they are the best you can do at the "Walmart" price point. If I ever manage to damage or destroy these, I will probably buy new Coleman Extreme coolers to replace them.

If you want a real test on ice chest let Weedeater use em. He like to let mainly mine fly out the boat going down the road. But on a more serious note the Coleman Extreme is a good ice chest they just don't handle being hit by cars to well.

![]() OK, time to come clean with an embarrassing story that demonstrates the robustness of the Coleman Extreme as well as the older 100-120 qt Coleman shown in the photo. After catching these fish at the jetties with my wife and brother, we were headed back north on 27 when the trailer popped off of the ball. It scraped the safety chains on the ground and quickly ground them through. I was watching the boat and trailer in the review mirror completely powerless to do anything. My brother declined my offer to slow his jeep and try and bring the rogue trailer and boat to a stop by gradually slowing the jeep. The trailer soon swerved into the oncoming (southbound) lane before swerving back to the right and into the roadside ditch. The two ice chests with the fish and a lot of ice were riding in the boat the whole time. The lids popped open, but all I had to do was hop up in the boat and put some spilled ice back and close the lids. All was well with the ice chests and fish inside. |

Not trying to put down K2 but yeti is much higher quality.

I agree. K2 is a great chest and holds ice well but for durability and quality I like my yeti better.

Looks like Yeti is the official cooler of Salty Cajun.

Absolutely but it cost way more, and is heavy as crap. Don't get me wrong Yeti is an amazing cooler just way to heavy to lug around even the 35qt is ridiculously heavy but like you said its built like a tank!
K2 is very durable not as high quality as a yeti but def has the performance of a yeti at a fraction of the price and weight. |

Marpac is Donovan Marine's model. They have many different boat items that they slap their sticker on. Never looked at them so do not know what brand chest it is that they use.
