I really like the reels, but I caught one of Rat Dog's redfish by accident and it stripped one of the reels beyond repair which has me a little concerned about buying several more of these.

I see some people on here talk about the Lew's reels. Don't all of these have both centrifugal and magnetic brakes? I have always heard magnetic brakes and saltwater don't mix. Am i missing something?
If you like your E series Curados, you can still get them, they are just white and labeled Chronarch. They're still great reels, still made in Japan. I'd avoid the new G series reels, as they have seen a few problems. These reels only have a centrifugal brakes.

The Lew's reels have been great. I get no complaints about them and we sell lots of them. Our best seller is the Lew's $99 speed spool. Great little reel at a good price. The Lew's reels under $150 all have magnetic brakes only, the models over $150 have centrifugal an magnetic brakes.
