"W" No surgery is 100%. I don't care if your going to the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, M.D. Anderson, etc. If a Doctor of medicine ever guarantee's you a 100% cure rate you better start running away fast. The reality of it it there is just no such thing. I'm no expert but I've been a nurse anesthetist for 30 plus years and I feel I know a few things about medicine. Don't be impatient about your situation, give it a little more time and after conservative treatment is not longer an option then have your surgery. A second opinion is HIGHLY recommended BTW, before surgery.

I had the surgery last year, performed by Dr. Hinton. I experienced terrible pain for the first week and then things began to get slowly better. The tendon damage was pretty severe, therefore that the damaged area had to be removed and the tendon reattached. I felt soreness and tightness for the majority of the last year, and two weeks ago while stirring a pot if jambalaya it all came back. Gonna have to make an appointment next week to see Dr. Hinton.

MRI showed scar tissue on mine so physical therapy wouldn't have done any good. I had surgery (removed scar tissue) and was back to regular activities in 6 weeks. However, it took about 3 months total before I could workout. Mine didn't require physical therapy afterwards. Those shots suck! I would do surgery again before having those shots again!

"W",
Ive had it done on both elbows... Sucks to be out, but you will be out for a min of about 9 weeks.. I had one done in 2010, and one done in 2011.... It is a great relief once it is done and over. You will feel the pain once you start fishing again, but it will go away over time and you will be pretty good. Mine are no way 100%, but they are 95 or so. Get it done, you will be glad. However, since you fish alot.. Wait till febuary to get it done like I did. Capt Thomas |
