Consider getting yourself to Houston and get a second opinion. Mitral valve prolapse can be repaired rather easily.
Have a good friend's wife who just had this same type condition. She went to Houston and mitral valve was repaired within a month of first visit. If you deside to go to H town for a second opinion and need a cardiologist, let me know. I can give you the doctor's name my friend's wife saw.
