Default prien lake

im 15 and i want to know if it's legal for me to fish from prien lake park by myself ? would i need a fishing license to do so? and if yes what kind of license? also i would like to bring home the fish i catch also.

Yes you can fish at the park by yourself. I would stay away from the boat launch area. Just be careful and watch what is going on around you.....can't be too careful. You might want to walk over to the west side [past the water park] and try there. Bring some OFF.

When you turn 16 you will need a Basic [freshwater] and saltwater license to fish there.

Take a look at this link and go down the the bottom. You might want to talk with your Mom and Dad about getting a Life time license.

It would be a good idea to read up on all the fishing regulations on LDWF web site.

Yep. Always wear your life jacket. File a float plan with your parents telling them where you plan on fishing. A flag sticking up would be a great idea to help boats see you from a distance, especially in rough water. Bring about 3x more water than you think you will need.

Take these guys up on going with them at least for your first few times. Bad things could happen by yourself especially if you don't have any experience and your not familiar with the lake.
