Question Drinking with the kids?

This is a question for anybody who has solid info on this matter, not my B-I-L told me so it must be true information.

This is just a discussion that came up at work, and of course everyone seems to think they know the law better than the next guy.
So the question is, is it ok (legal) for a parent to bring their 18 yr old to bourbon st. and give them alcohol to drink?

I know in Gonzales that, a person 18 or over can enter a bar with a parent and consume alcohol. N.O. may be different though.

Not enforced very heavily......
I don't see anything wrong with an 18 year old accompanied by his or her parents to drink, the way I see it is if your old enough to vote, be tried as an adult, smoke, join the armed forces I think you should be able to have a few to many drinks even though your still an immature adult at this level that's why you must be accompanied by guardians to drink so they can keep you in check
Thats just my opinion
