sand to bare metal, do a light coat of "self etchimg"" primer. shoot it with an enamel paint. be sure to add enamel hardener to it.

If you are going with camo or drab/flat paint, use Duralux...

Easy to spray and wears well...

I'm not camouflaging it that's to much trouble for me I'm not gonna hunt out of it I just wanna clean it up a little bit and make it at least look like it's in good shape, on my budget I think McNabb hit it on the head with krylon bc the marine paint is apparently urine from god in a bucket.

It ain't funny, I'd get a divorce if I spent that much money on something just to make my boat look good it's crazy.

There's a add that runs on Southeasttexas.com for a guy that will sand your boat and repaint inside and outside for around $200...... he does it in OD Green

$200 is worth it. I just painted mine and to do it right it's a pain. I used duralux aluminum boat pain. It's a paint and primer all in one. I sanded my boat enough to scuff the paint. I then wiped the whole boat down with acetone. I sprayd it with an air gun and it came out very good. I did have to thin it a little bit. They actually have pretty good instructions on the can if memory serves right, it's about $75 a gallon. Lot of work goes into doing it right.

stine's lumber has marine alum paint for around $20 a gallon. The thinner is about $15.00 a gallon. I had a guy repaint mine recently and all he told me to do was wash boat very well with Dawn soap and get all the dirt and old stickers off. He did not sand it to bare metal. he did pass some fine grit sandpaper over it and then wiped it down with a wet rag, let it dry and sprayed with an air gun. It looks brand new.
