Dularge Reds Are Running!
Big fun on the DU this morning for Bill Bertrand and Bubba Phillips. A few months ago i fished with them and limited out on trout. The wind was screaming all night out of the west and still blowing 15-20 this morning. There would be no trout today. Reds were our plan B and the guys were fine with our second choice. The stiff wind made for some less than ideal conditions as we had to make several moves to locate the fish. We fished all our usual productive locations with very little success. The tide was ripping out and falling hard! By 8:30 we only had a single red to show for our efforts. A slow start for sure as Capt George Landry was experiencing the same results with his customer. We decided to try another location and arrived shortly after 900 am. Jackpot !!! The reds were stacked and hungry as both boats were fully limited out by 9:40. Bill and Bubba had double hookups every cast and the reds were flying in the boat as fast as I could net and unhook them! Solid fish averaging 25-28 inches and Bill & Bubba could not believe the incredible fast and furious bite they witnessed today. Looking forward to fishing with these 2 gentlemen again in November. Good luck fishing. Capt Bill Lake 985-851-6015 985-637-3712 |
