No expert here but I think it is on the East side of the point. There supposed to be a bunch of Cypremort Trees Stumps there. My two cents for what it is worth.

The word "cypremort" means dead cypress in French.

Thier is a place called the "Stumps" in the cove between Redfish Point and Indian Point. Follow the right bank all the way back to Hell Hole Bayou and the Stumps are on the west bank.

There are very few exposed stumps in the Vermilion Bay, West Cote Blanche area. The submerged stumps have pretty much worn away with time, the map posted earlier by "wishing I was fishing" is correct, except the yellow area is underwater and if you have a good sounder and can read it you can find them .. This time of year will produce some good specs ... The Trash Pile and Cove still have submerged stumps and also produce some good fish. A hint on the Cove.. be patient .. and it will pay off.

Trust me, that area on your GPS does indeed have a large scattering of stumps and debris down there. However, that area of stumps seemed to have moved due East a couple of 100 yards. The western most area on that map has very little, if any obstructions on the bottom; the further east you go on that track to more you'll find....as yes, this area holds specs nearly all year long.

I think the errosion has took its toll and makes it seem that it's moved. There are lots of stumps there and can pay off big time but it's not really consistant. It's a place thet if they are there you'll know.
