Jude - thanks for posting this. I am sitting here about to cry reliving my life listening to my grandfather tell me about his service in WWII. This old sniper reminds me of him so much, dang I miss him. My grandfather returned from service almost deaf from artillery, and scarred up from the beaches of Normandy. He loved having me around as a youngster and I loved going places with him. Times have changed, but in the end I hope I am half the man he was. As the young snipers said in the video, "it is us who are honored"!. God Bless the USA!

It came from Bassbum, one of my fishing buddies. I sent him and email and called him an old fart and this is what he sent me saying, "see what this old fart can do"

Not a day goes by that someone at my office ask me how can you go out and do what you do and risk everything in that police car. The generation of this old timer is why I do it - I owe them!

There are not many of these old heroes left. If you see an old WW II vet, please stop and say thank you and shake his hand and speak to his wife if she is with him. I try to always do this and I always walk away with a tear in my eye but I think it means a great deal to these men. Unfortunately our country may not be what it is today 20 years from now with the things that are going on but this greatest generation of American's are the reason we have what we have today. God bless each and every one of them.

We never had a meal at my Grandfather's house in which he did not pray for our country and our "boys overseas". These soldiers were the ultimate team players.

Great find Jude, thank you.

Bought a WWII vet and his wife lunch Sunday. I saw him come in, barely able to get out of his own way, lead by his wife. Just one of those things I felt I needed to do. They were the original American Bada##es!

Same here FFF...That was awesome Jude!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting.
My Paw Paw was a WWII Vet he passed away when I was 21 in '91, I sure do miss him. I always felt that I didn't lose my Paw Paw but I had lost my best friend & hunting buddy. I have wished he could have been a part of my boys lives he would have had a ball with them!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, very cool and touching. Sure made me lonesome for my dad. He wasn't a sniper, but in the anti-tank division all over France and Germany.
Thanks Jude.
