Proposed Changes to 2013-2014 Deer Season

I've sent emails to Andy Crawford with Louisiana Sportsman and also to Steve Smith with LADWF to ask questions about bowhunting. The article doesnt mention anything about how the proposed either sex days will affect bowhunters.

Got a reply from Louisiana Sportsman...

we're waiting on the exact season dates to be sent out by LDWF, but according to the notice of intent, the only bucks-only bow hunting will be the first 15 days of October in Areas 6 and 9. Basically, that would be the old Area 6

This is what the regulations say about Archery:

Either-sex deer may be taken in all areas open for deer hunting EXCEPT when a bucks only season is in progress for gun hunting and EXCEPT in Area 6 from Oct. 1-15. In such cases, archers must conform to the bucks only regulations. Either-sex deer may be taken on WMAs at anytime during archery season EXCEPT when bucks only seasons are in progress on the archery segment of the respective WMA.

So that means they would have to change the regulations to get their "intent"
