Yep, good glasses and a good hat with a wide brim is best for sight fishing.

One thing I know for sure, Costas warranty and turn around is good. Search the boards for a couple of threads about it.

Yeh they gave us a pair of polarized and transitional lenses for work when I was offshore.
I like the transitional ones for work but the polarized green mirror ones we got weren't to impressive and the foam peice is just there to be a nasty uncomfortable and un natural sweat absorber....... Capt. Kade Shaw |

Got the Wiley x and with the foam insert in place I can run the boat without my eyes watering. Would prolly help riding motorcycles too.

laugh all you want, but Berkleys at WalMart for five bucks are very good. Almost disposable, got a few pair for guests on the boat who show up with non-polarized. No worry whatsoever about loss, scratching, warranty hassle and/or time to turn them around.
I know yall love your Costas, but the Berkleys are an outstanding back-up or replacement. |

X2 on berkleys but lenses pop out. Oh we'll buy another pair hard to that with costas. I'm gonna give y'all insight on warranty for costas. Lifetime warranty on "manufacturer defect" I've sent 5 pairs in and only once did they warranty them all other times its the cost of lenses...mirror 580=$99 copper 580=89$.... This is last time I pay for em next time ill sell them for 75%off and let the buyer ship em. 10$ ship, 89$fee, 10$ ship back. They new lenses now not new frames. I'm hard on glasses but at that price they should be nearly indestructible.

Walmart also sells some glasses made by Wiley x but cheaper. They have a similar name. My brother in law has them and loves them. I think they run in the 50-70 market.

Are those berkleys the ones that come with a sweet tan line?

Yeah I quit sending in my costas. For 30 bucks more what they want for repair and shipping you can get a new pair on eBay for. They need to step up on the frames. I break more frames than lenses and the paint usually wears off before anything. A good pair with titanium frames would be the shizz.
