You don't know if those fish were there all year round though. It was summer time, and pretty common for fish to be at nearshore platforms that time of year They may move on inside for winter time

We don't know if they come in, why come inland for winter??

I know on our LSU study we had a 7 lb trout get tagged and left the jetties to never return. ( could of died , got caught , got ate ) but that could tell us something. And I think all trout that left only one came back.

If large trout have food supply they have no reason to come inland

Could be the same behavior as bull reds. Most stay offshore, but some come inland once in a while.

In big lake 90% of those trout are local trout who lived there whole life in lake .. Nobody can really fish offshore in the winter due to winds and water color

I fished the beach a few years back in April and caught some hogs .. All full of eggs about to spawn...
