there are still croakers in big lake now and I'm pretty sure they are still in the bay

Agreed.....may usually kicks of the better fishing in vbay. Redfish are biting though my neighbor been catching them at the mouth of the avery and weeks bay. Falling tide is the key.

They're smaller in VB. Lake Ponch has much bigger; should be made a trophy lake for Croakers.

No tide guides are 100 percent accurate the winds have alot to do with it as well. They are just a starting point more or less.
