Have Bob and his son Kaden here looking for an offshore window. Today we went fishing in the back yard so to speak. The winds were going to pick up so I did not want to haul the boat to Venice and then down the river in slop so I stayed close. One of my buddys told me he had good water where he was oystering. Just after 9:00 we hit the water and headed that way. All we found was a rat red.
There was a hint of fog from the river and it got chilly on the water. It was a while before things started happening.
We fished Pileings, islands, points of land, oyster flats, and pipeline canals. I moved to some clean moving water along a pipeline and got a surprise.
As the winds picked up so did the fishing. We found various fish to jump in the box.
The afternoon proved to be a life saver.
Around 4:30 we were back at the dock and heading home for a fish cleaning party. Ended up with a nice bunch of fish and also caught and released some rat reds.
Looks like Thursday and Friday will be offshore days.
Life is Good!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
