With the high river water in the area it will be tough. You can catch redfish and catfish fishing the north shore of marsh island. Fish east and west of bird island bayou (game warden camp). Fish gulp or shrimp under a loud rattle cork and carolina rigged shrimp and finger mullet in the bayous and drains. Will be several months before trout get right in the area. Usually june the water starts getting better depending on the river level. It's not the most sporting like fishing but sometimes it beats driving 100 plus miles pulling the boat to the east or west.
