Default Prien/Lake Charles 03-28-13

My youngest son wanted me to take him fishing this morning and he wanted to go red fishing only so we made a trip to the Prien area. I don’t have to tell you where I was at because the pictures will do that for me. Didn’t catch anything with any size they were all from 16 to 22 inches and we ended up tagging and releasing 13 reds. We also caught 5 trout that were also tagged and released. We keep two reds and a bass for dinner tonight. It was a good day on the water and when I get to spend it with the youngest one it is a good day. Due to his health problems it is not everyday he wants to go fishing but when he does we go. If you kids are health spend as much time as possible with them you can never tell because his just happened with no warning.

The water in Prien looked great in 3 foot we could see the bottom as we moved down towards Lake Charles the water started to get dirty, but wasn’t mud dirty just a very heavy stain. The water temp was running from 61 to 63 degrees and the tide was outgoing the whole time we were there. There was a mix bag of baits used today we started with the wedgtail mullet on a bayou spin, 100 series crank-bait which the bass liked, natural and brown vudu shrimp and red head super spook jr. Caught fish on everything we threw today.

Nice trip, made it out yesterday to try a couple of my holes and picked up a few fish all catch and release...they are slowly making their way back.

You caught a bass under the 210 bridge? Wow!
My sister caught a 4 foot shark under the bridge last year!

The bass was caught a little further north by the I 10 bridge.
