If ever sight-casting for reds and going against the wind, spinning works for me. If ever fishing with a weighted cork, spinning is the way to go. In situations with light baits against the wind and distance is at a premium (accuracy a non-factor) spinning is the way to go.
Pretty much all other application, I don't like spinning.
