Default 4/2 TOUGH day...

got to holly beach around 8:30 or so, winds were sort of calm, but picked up. tried topwater for a while and my buddy had shrimp. nothing. winds picked up and waves were crazy. ventured to the jetties. water was pretty and birds working. i was almost positive we were going to catch. i was wrong.. started off with mirrolure topwater and buddy had shrimp. nothing.. both tried gulp.. nothing.. birds were working just about everywhere but they would leave then come back and leave and come back, etc etc. broke out the storm bait (my personal favorite for desperate times), no luck. i just dont know what it was with today. i mean nothing. no bites. no nibbles. i ALWAYS catch hardheads. but didnt even catch one of them. i dont know what im doing wrong. i dont have a boat so im always trying to catch a fishing trip with someone or im on the bank somewhere. but me and the buddy had fun and thats all that matters

holly beach is the hardest place to fish in La I'm convinced bc the wind is rarely like u need it (north) .... that being said its a little too early for the beach

GOOGAN-
A fishing (not sexual) term for lowlife, shore(bank) fishermen who baitfish typically without a license, regard to regulations, and etiquette towards other people, especially other fishermen following the rules.
