You won't see a 1/2 ton diesel until the morons in Washington stop creating stricter emissions laws on diesels. If someone can't afford a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel, what makes anyone think they would accept the 12mpg the current diesel models are getting due to the ridiculous EPA equipment that gets even more ridiculous starting with next year's models. I'd be surprised if any of the 2010 models get over 10mpg.

I run a dodge with 6.7 diesel and I wont switch anytime soon. My truck is a 2007 and has 180000 miles on it all pulling a 40gn trailer and I have loaded 18000 plus pounds worth of equipment on that trailer and I average around 11mpg while pulling. I have changed one throttle positioning system and one fuse box. Other than that add fuel and do routine maintance. I have herd all of the crap about Dodges not holding up and their transmission are junk and I can personally tell you this is not true. I change my tranny oil every 30000 miles and I have had 0 problems with it. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate my dodge as a 10 because it is the best truck I have ever owned.

Ditto my Ford. When you have a good one, it is hard to let it go.
