I would return it and spend the extra $100 on a yeti... You wouldnt have even been able to fit 4 bags of ice in 2 days in a yeti 65 filled with drinks.

did you keep it in your house or a non temp controlled place like a storage building before putting ice in it?

If it gets really hot in there any of the high dollar coolers will retain that heat for a long time. When I had a yeti I would bring it in the house the night before fishing and open the lid to let it cool down a little. It is probably the same with the k2
