I pretty much only bow hunt. I am planting a spring/summer food plot that should be thick during the rut because it doesn't matter much to me about having forage later in the year. I want them to be frequenting my areas during bow season in September and October.

That's definitely the right game plan for that area. But plan on replanting around August. Not sure what you planted but they will likely wipe it out before bow season.

We aren't planting until the middle of July. We are planting heavily with a seed mix that has couple different types of legumes in our mix that is heavy in Lab Lab, along with a few other types of forage seeds mixed in. Lab Lab is supposed to be able to handle heavy browsing because of its fast growth rate.
