Is it not amazing how the human side comes out when something like this happens. Brings each of us affected back to earth real quick. Pushes you to the point, that all the other BS and possessions in your life are nothing, when it comes to hurt or tragedy of a love one.
I hug and tell my two children/wife I love them several times each day.
It is not only if something happens to them but what if something happens to me.

Default gotta love em and tell em

I got that same phone call a few years back that my son had been in volved in a 3 vehicle crash on I-10 between laff. an scott.
cop didn't give me any info except that ambulances had been called and he was being taken to the hospital and hung up.
wife said i looked like i could die when i hung up the phone.
we called a friend in scott and asked him to please go check on our son. ( thanks Mr. dale)
he arrived in time to see that our son was jjust banged up and had a good size knot on his head and called us as i was on the way from B.R.
After all was said and done my son and i sat down to talk . He looked at me and said, pops, you remember when you were teaching me to drive and
you kept trying to make me learn how to drive a half mile ahead. I said yes. he then told me that even though he wasn't thinking about looking ahead he was doing it. he said he saw the accident starting in the left lane ahead of him and knew that it was coming into his lane and he had to move . so he took the shoulder as he braked and then realised that it was still coming so he took the grass b4 he got hit. ended up against the fence along I-10. Then he told me, See pops i was paying attention .
i didn't know wether to hug him or smack him . but i did tell him i love ya and i'm glad you are ok.
Not an easy thing for any parent to go through . All we can do is pray that we've taught them well and Hope they were listening.

Don't wait for the wreck fellas. At 22, five friends and I had to carry one of our best friends home to rest. The pain I watched his parents go through is something that haunts me as much or more than his passing to this day. I remember his dad asking all of us questions about was he too hard on us(we were all his kids), had he told Clayton he loved him enough, what did Clayton think of him(which was the world)...

Don't leave those doubts in your mind and I pray that I nor any of us ever have to endure the type of torturous pain that his parents suffered.

As I said earlier, thank God he is alright. Go hug his neck and kick his butt!

Default Boy

Glad he's ok.

I'm an older dad at 48 and have two little ones at 3 and 5 and one at 15. I really need to get back in shape so that I can hopefully spend a lot more quality years with them. It's sad thinking that one day they will be out there living on there own and I won't be around to interact with them.

I am really glad your son is ok, I can't imagine losing a child.

I have a 15 year old son that lives with his mom in Lake Charles. We don't talk as much as we should or used to, but I do tell him every time I talk to him and he also tells me, no matter who is around. He plays football and will tell with his kids around. That makes a dad feel good.
Good luck with your son.

Thumbs up Glad all is well

I know where everyone is coming from. I have a 19 year old son that is going to college in Oklahoma. Everytime he leaves driving back his Mom and I are worried sick. Luckily my daughter lives next door with her Husband and our grandson. I get to see them everyday. My prayers go to everyone raising kids these days.
