Default Ripped off by side of the road seafood

Went into side of the road seafood on greenwell springs road today to get some shucked oysters.
Asked the clerk ,about how many to a pint? he said a dozen. OK give me 4 pints . He said he would give me 2 qts instead. Ok. Got home and had 2 dozen oysters + a few pieces in 2 qts of liquid in unmarked containers
$31.48 for 2 doz. med size oysters.
I tried to give my business to the little guy.
But all i got was skrewed.
DO NOT TRADE w/ this place as they will rip you off!!!!

Just realized that selling oysters in unmarked containers is against the law. will file complaint w/ LDWF tomorrow

you try calling them and telling them what happened? Maybe it was a mistake and they will replace them

S***. Where about man I definitely over paid. I'm working six days a week and these got picked up Saturday at nine pm so I'm not complaining but I'm always down to save a buck.

Sucks for the loss Eman. You're probably not the first but hopefully you can put a stop to it if in fact it was intentional

20$ a sack right off a boat in cocodrie any day of the week. They fish them year round and are killing every bed in every bay.

Default Irony

Not trying to ruffle feathers just an observation

'we' complain about the oystermen raping the reefs, yet contribute to it by buying oysters

That's why I'm trying to find them cheaper, so I can contribute as little as possible

I work with folks who would do anything they can to keep a stand of cypress from being logged, but use cypress mulch in their flower beds

just pointing out the irony is all

That's good to hear. Haven't bought off the boat in a while and heard they were at least 30 now.

Oysterman don't kill every bed in every bay. Right now most of them are planting seed oysters for the next few years. I wouldn't eat any right now, it's to hot and they are milky.

I normally get them by the sack (70-80lbs) from bridgeside in Delcambre. I called this morning though, and they only have 50lb crates of cleaned unshucked right now for $35. The i rather get the extra 20lbs and wash em down myself when i can find em though.
