This is interesting, my boss was telling me of this one time he was surf fishing GI and 10 count shrimp were all up on the beach with flounder right behind em, caught his 10 flounder by hand and filled up everything he had with big shrimp. He said at first he thought an apocalypse was happening or something He didn't know what caused this, he thought it had something to do with a dead zone or something and the fish/shrimp were trying to get away from it

note to self: postpone July work in Grand Isle until north winds blow in August

Happens once a year in different parts of the coast. I hear that Mobile residents have an alarm system set up so that when the Jubilee starts, alarms go off everywhere so everyone can head to the beaches to scoop uf fish, shrimp, crabs, etc. I experienced it once at G.I. We filled about 5 ice chests with shrimp caught by hand with a trawl we dragged down the beach. The skrimps weren't big, but there sure were plenty of them.
