Weather was iffy this am, so passed on the dink trout and decided to brush off the redfish stalking chops. Found a beautiful, grass-filled pond off the ship channel and though it took an hour to find the pattern, when it clicked, it was on on!
Coulda placed high in some tourneys with the sub 27s if I coulda kept them from up-chucking in the live well. Extremely thick across the back and full bellies. Not a whole lotta fish, but lots of big, dinosaur-like garfish, sheepshead and the reds that were in there were shining like neon signs. The pale fish on top of the box shot was caught blind casting in the canal on the way out.
Podnah was a rookie to this type fishing and went 0-3. Overcast made it tough to see and the sky-high water made them ghost like even on the severe clear water.
Good times!
