I ran a 05' 225 Opti for almost 4 years (450hrs). Never saw the shop, and always cranked right up. I hope yours treats you with the same good fortune!

There are issues among all motors. Just bad luck sometimes I guess.
Same exact thing happened to two people I know. On was in the gulf in a storm. Motor blew up blew cowling into the gulf. Had to get rescued by the people on the rig and almost sunk his boat and coast guard had to go get him. Also had a blown lower unit and alternator went out and just last week lost two cylinders. Motor is 2 years old and still under warranty. And at first mercury said they weren't gonna cover the cowling. After a pissin match and some f bombs back and forth between him and the owner of mercury they finally warranteed it

Very common to justify motor year model by putting a top hash mark. But I expected this from this site, nothing new.

The way it's written denotes footage, year would be '11 - critical difference. It was a joke anyway, you could laugh about it...
