Throw that SOB as far as you can

(unless in Big Lake, just drop in water with a 4ft chain)

You need to use a Danforth with 4ft of chain and let it out farther.

Danforth, I would cut the engine off and go to the front of the boat drop the anchor and let some line out and hopefully it would catch the mud or something. Maybe it is time to invest in a pole pole.

The chain is the thicket! If you have problems with 4ft, then do 6ft of heavy link chain!
This is usually need in deep moving water! Enough rope needs to be released also, you can't pull strait up or it will pull every time!

And last but no least, if you do or attempt the OLYMPIC ANCHOR TOSS of the bow of your boat then be prepared for a good ole fashion a$$ woopin or the figure 8 fairy to inflict multiple zigzags around your fishing party!
Seeing how far or high yo can throw the anchor does not help it hold any better, in fact it scares fish and attracts more a$$ holes!

It may surprise you how much line you need to let out. Rule of thumb is 7 foot of rope for every 1 foot of water depth plus the height of your bow above the waterline. So if you are in 6 ft of water and your bow is 2 ft high then you need to let out at least 8 x 7 = 56 ft of line.

Think about the times that due to wind, current and/or bottom conditions no matter how many attempts you made to set anchor...none were successful. Enter the PowerPole! No muss, no fuss, silent and is even a remote control operation.
