speck chaser, i asked him the same thing !!!!!
his answer was yas, i just completed the rod now all i need do is put his name on it whe i get it and then 3 coats of finish and she is ready to fish.
i thought it turned out pretty nice, did yall notice the one photo of the rod eye that showed the blue thread and how nice the thread layed together that my friend is hand work no machine, i use a hand made tool to smooth each wrap like that, it's kinda like each guide is custom installed if you get my drift nothing is done for me, i have total control over the results of my work, so if i mess up then it's my arss not the machine any way thank's for the coments.
one other thing i wanted you guys to take note of, "notice how i wrap beyond " the guide instead of stopping at the bridge, there is a couple reasons for this one is of course cosmetic the other is that by doing this it makes have to epoxy beyond the bridge and this elimanates water standing and creeping under the foot of the guide.
now this is just one of many small custom feature's that you get when you have billystix custom rods build for you.

Yes indeed - I will be using it on Big Lake the rest of the month. Just for the record, I am a registered coon a$$ - born and raised in LA and went to LSU. Stix said it was his custom to put a Texas flag on rods shipped to Texas and given the theme I wanted (patriotic to match the blue rod) I think it looks pretty dang good.

Excellent job Stix - can't wait to fish it and post some endorsements.

hi guy
yes i dont mind saying i did a fair jod on that bad boy, i just can not imagine what it would feel like to hang a #9 or bigger on that rod it would be no problem, i would even say if you had line capitcy on the reel and you was set right and had things adjusted i would have no fear to put a nice #30 ling on that blank, you just would have to play him you would noy be able to horse him but you whup his arss with that blank, and having the correct amt of guides will help also, i want you to notice when you get your rod how close the first guide is to the fore grip.
i am giving thought to building a rod just like that possibly cutting down on the cosmetic's a little so that i can move closer to the fore grip i would like to ulimatele be no more than10 inches from the grip, i just need to stop and take a few minutes from building and work on that, i might take some stuff on vaction to kentucky xmas week and do a little playing while the wife runs around the coutry and leaves me at the house.
stix
if any one wants one of these originial billystix t shirts i have them in long sleeve and short $25 and that covers ship these are my very first t shirts and i might be short on size but the long sleeve are way cool tou should see the sleeve i will post a photo for you to see the sleeve,ok yuou have to l,ook closely at the right side of the page to see the sleeve.
and like i said sizes are limited but i know i have plenty of 3xl for some strange reason.
