Maybe look at LaTour in Matthews, LA - golf community just south of Raceland on 308. Or if you want more land buy a tract on 308 and build your house, boat & tractor shed, etc.
1 hour from Grand Isle, 30 mins to Houma, 40 Mins to NoLa. Depends what you want. Thibodeaux is another option to consider. I live in Houston and have a Grand Isle camp on the water in Queen Bess Bay. When I make the 6 hour drive from Houston to GI, I normally stay for 10 days to 2 weeks...
