Had to throw one away wit the rice breast Saturday. If cooked they're supposed to be harmless though.

Ive heard that too but they just look nasty when you cleaning them i couldn't imagine cooking them like that harmless or not.

I throw teal away also but it's weird because I don't throw trout with worms embedded. Would you even know the parasite was there if you plucked your bird vs skinning, which you apparently did to be able to see the parasite.

I have probably ate plenty. We wax 90% of our birds. So I know I've browned a few down.

In my experience, the "rice-like" parasites have been very common for over 40 years.
We had to quit checking for them when we found over half our birds infested with them. Not very appetizing. |

Usually the only ones we'll pluck are teal. Breast out everything else.

I have found em in lots of ducks. But I have found teal and mottled ducks to be the worse for some reason.
