Default Space Station Flyby

Just saw the ISS do a flyby almost directly overhead. It was visible for about 5 minutes from Southwest to Northeast.

I wish my telescope could track that fast. It will track the moon but that's as fast as it goes.

Not going to happen, you can sometimes see it pretty good with a good pair of Binoculars.

I have an app on my phone that sends an alarm 5 minutes before it passes, then when you go outside you look at your phone and it has an arrow to point where to look. Called ISS Detector, I have another app called Droid Sky View, you can do a search and it will point to constellations. You can also point it a star and it will tell you what star it is.

Last night you could see Venus, Mercury and Mars. They were all in one area.

I saw it fly over head about a month ago while I was offshore. Was a pretty cool thing to see.

Saw it fly a few times out in the Mediterranean and the North Arabian Sea. No lights at all out there. Wish I could have had my phone on the flight deck but that's a big no no at night especially during night ops.

Really cool sight when you get to see it against a pitch black sky.
