Default Turtle cleaning

Take a coat hanger, bent the end into a "J". Put the J in the turtles mouth, pull until you extend the neck out and cut the head off. Let turtle expire. Once dead flip turtle onto its back. Take a small ax or machette and whack the shell between the four legs. This will separate the top and bottom shell. With turtle upside down, run a knife along the bottom part of the shell to detach this part of the shell. Then take your knife and run it along the four legs and neck to detach this from the top part of the shell. Take some skinning pliars and skin the legs, also cut of the claws off. Legs and neck are the only edible parts. If the turtle has eggs you can try cooking these also but it's not for me.

It will take a good while for that sucker to expire. My mom has cooked some before, and the pieces would still move when she would drop them in the skillet to brown. Kinda freaky.

If you skin the turtle, it will not taste as good when you cook it.
Chunk the turtle in a hot pot of water. It will die real quick and it's legs, tail and head
will extend out pretty far. Pull it out and rub the outer skin off of the turtle with your
hands. Cut the head off and throw away.
Cut along the sides of the shell between the front and rear legs and then cut the
bottom plate off. Then cut all the legs off the shell as well as the tail and neck.
The skin makes the gravy a lot better. More brown, more flavor.
