Default Meat & Gravy

I should have posted this last night but my wife had to use the computer to do some work on and then I got interested in something on TV.
Yesterday I cooked some Bottom Round Chuck Steaks with gravy to serve over rice. One of our favorites!!! The wife made a potato salad and I made some candied yams, the other veggie was canned Lesuer peas. Since this is a well loved and eaten dish around here I made a big batch in the oval Magnalite roaster.
Started off by browning the meat. Seasoned the meat as usual with granulated garlic, onion salt and black pepper.

After browning the meat, add the onions to deglaze the good stuff from the bottom of the pot.

After onions are tender add water to simmer down until good and tender.

Done and ready to enjoy!

Since it was breezy and cool I decided to light the old firepit to enjoy the aroma of burning wood.

Of course it was time to enjoy an ice cold Abita Andygator.

Candied yams done!

I almost forgot. I decided to make a batch of homemade rolls.

This was such a good meal last night I had it again tonight and enjoyed it as much if not more. I hate calling it leftovers because it was so darn good.

Looks awesome, rolls are impressive, and that's the first time I've seen andygator in a six pack.

I just picked up a 6lb chuck roast to cook Wednesday, your post has me craving it even more now!

Have a good friend of mine from Hessmer. Those rolls do look awesome man. Nothing I love better than some fresh bread. Nothing is better than the smell of bread baking in the house. Its one of those things that makes a house a home. IMO

I have a customer in Evergreen, man that Evergreen, Cottonport,Bunkie area is truly Gods country..so beautiful! I try to get there every chance I get. I ate at a place I think "Ricks" red building, pretty good buffet, gumbo and white beans I almost killed myself on it!

Never heard of andygator. Is it a light beer or an amber beer?

Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
* 2 1/2 cups warm milk
* 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup butter, softened
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 7 cups all-purpose flour, or as needed
* 1/2 cup butter, melted

* Pour milk into a large mixing bowl, and sprinkle yeast over the surface. Allow to rest for 5 minutes. Beat in the sugar, eggs, 1/2 cup butter, and salt; blend thoroughly. Gradually stir in the flour to make a soft dough. Cover bowl, and set in a warm place until dough doubles in size, about 1 hour.
* Punch down the dough, cover the bowl, and allow to rise again. Repeat this step two more times.
* Break off 2 to 3 inch size pieces of dough, roll lightly into round shape, and place in prepared baking dish, edges touching. Repeat to make 36 dough balls. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
* Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
* Bake rolls in preheated oven until tops turn golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. When rolls are finished baking, drizzle melted butter over the top, and serve warm.

Thanks all!
That gravy was one of the best ever. Rich I even added some water to stretch it some more. Still have some and don't want to see it go. Lol....
