Default Bun****'s Lake

With the water level being so low, does anyone know if you can launch at Hopewell bridge and run down the creek to the lake?

I usually run some lines in the spring and I sure would like to get out there and mark a few spots on GPS. Plus I am thinking you could kill the white perch with it being so low.

Why is it so low, someone letting water out? Is there still water in canals?

They did some work on the flood gates and are repairing the dock at the launch by the spillway and the launch at Hopewell bridge. I would guess and say 2/3 of the lake is high and dry. I think they are supposed to close the gate January 15th and let it fill back up. I went by the launch at Hopewell bridge Sunday and there were 4 boat trailers in the parking lot but I'm not sure if they went toward the lake or up the creek. The launch is completely out of the water but people are launching beside it.

lol, we had a house fire a while back by this lake and they were wanting to pump from the lake, but had to walk 200+ yards in the mud to get to water. We settled for a fire hydrant.

They are draining the lake in order to remove stumps and allow people who live on the water enough time to repair and build docks, etc. Also they were talking about doing some upgrades to the spillway.
