Have some customers for tomorrow so I decided to see what was out there. If today was any indication of what is ahead for tomorrow I will be a hero. Met one of my buddies that was almost to his limit for his customers.
On my first cast with plastic I hook a hog that rips the hook out and gets away. I do keep the drags set on the tight side so my customers can battle redfish without getting into too much trouble. It took about 3 other losses before I got my first fish. It was a nice 15 inch trout.
I switched to dead shrimp and started putting good fish in the box.
The bite was on fire. I only threw back 3 fish and all 3 were keepers. The smallest I kept was 14 inches. The smallest I caught was still a keeper at 12 1/2 inches but it went back. There were several that were monsters and ripping the hook out of their mouths. My 13th fish in the box went 21 1/2 inches and turned out to be the best of the day.
This is the size that kept ripping off the hook. I did get another one that deserved the net.
I made it a point to take the time for some pictures but after only an hour of this----
---the state shut me down and I could not fish any more. Had my Limit! Yep sad to say; Longer to bring the boat to the launch than to get my limit of good fish.
Been almost a week since I cleaned any fish. Almost forgot how.
Believe that?

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
