I don't know how many days straight Its been now that I've either been hunting or out in the fields at daylight scouting to hunt. Last night I was pretty much burnt but I put some ducks going in my black iron pot around 7 sat down on the couch and ended up passing out. I woke up at 2:30 am to a burnt smell and I knew what it was. I jumped up ran to the stove but it was too late! Those ducks were as burnt as I was when I laid down on the couch. Scrubbed and cleaned my pot real good but what do I do now? Do I have to cure it again so it doesn't taste the burnt? Or can I just roll with it like that?

I would spray it down with oven cleaner....let it soak in......then re-season.
Have you tried just boiling water in it? |

bring it out side on a burner and fry some chickens in it, it will be good as new.

When no one responded earlier I said screw it. I Pulled some teal out and rolled with it. Stuffed em with some jalapeños and Guidry's and browned em up. I had to come see my mom at the hospital because she had surgery so I left Sara to watch it. It didn't smell the burnt when I left though.

I hate to tell you Scott, but your pots ruined. Just give it to me and I'll get rid of it for you!

I usually do the fire outside thing or cut up a bunch of large onions and go to town!
