Afternoon delight! Got out into the deep marsh a little after 1:00 and started dredging the bottom for those 56 degree water temp trout. They were biting immediately, but were small. Took a while to find some bigger ones and the bite came and went on 1/4 oz jigheads and Deadly Dudley Terror Tails. Bite was very light and using Lake Ponchartrain jigging techniques helped a great deal.
After a while moved on to a pond where reds were known to gather in the low, but not bottomed out water. They were spooky, but managed to find four dumb ones in an hour of effort, three good ones and a rat. Back to the trout and tallied two more before heading for the camp. Total of 17 trout 14-20 inches and four reds. Good times!
