Default Boiling crabs

Has anybody ever tried to boil crabs that have been cleaned and frozen. My wife wants me to boil crabs but all we have are cleaned frozen and ready for a stew. I don't want the meat to fall out or turn mushy.

crabs don't last long frozen in my opinion.....I'd make a pot of stew with them ..... they get old they get stringy to me....make crab and shrimp stew and put a lil zatarains crab boil after the roux is finish and you'll have the flavor without most of the heat....then she'll get 2 fer 1........

Don't boil them for more than a couple minutes.

They not going to be terrible.

I second this idea. I had live crabs thrown on the pit a while back and they taste just like boiled and the meat will stay firm. Excellent way to do crabs if you don't want to bother with boiling.

Well the finished product was ok. The meat wasn't mushy but was very dry. I'll try the BBQ the next time.
