The plane won't get close enough for a shotgun. I would try using a potato cannon with a net in the payload.

I have seen those depleted uranium shells for shotguns. I would be interested to try that.
Bringing down aircraft with ground fire is a long challenging problem, esp if they are fast and far away.

I'm sure the noise would't bug them at all. How do ducks and geese act around hawks and eagles?

I use a 5100mah battery to run the electronics and motor.

I get on average 20 miles to the battery pack. I got 25 miles the other day.

I get the "cost question" a lot. Cost really is relevant because all the money in the world will not buy you the technical knowledge and hard skills necessary to understand, build and deploy a UAS on your own.

The entire system ran me about 2k, but I also understand electronics, how to solder, how to fly RC using LOS, etc.

I will tell you that building and employing a system like this is a lot of fun! So don't let the above discourage you. This doesn't take the fun out of fishing no more than having outboards took the fun out of rowing.

You can get everything you need to build one here. Readymaderc.com

Cool vid capt. I get nervous every time I fly my plane and I ways keep it well within eyesight. Couldn't imagine flying a plane that I had that much invested in it 5 miles or so away.

I've seen ducks jump up to them but never geese. Geese hate airplanes though! Usually just jump up and set back down in the same field though

Bet you could paint it to resemble a duck and have some fun with it
