Don't think it didn't cross my mind. It would have been a hell of a lot easier. But I was almost positive that the resulting "Bow Slap" would have been a buzz kill. So, I opted for the ten drifts.

To me it seems like if your on a drift even in very light winds and you drop anchor its almost like they know everytime and stop biting instantly. pisses me off

Yup. They've really got to be feeding intense for the anchor to not ruin it IMO. I've only had that problem in BL. Never in Venice or grand isle. They definitely spook more easily over here.

Wjen ur drifting leave anchor tied off to cleat w anchor already in water about foot half down when u hit a fish just kick rope off cleat let out bout 8 ft and tie off and use a shovel anchor will hold on any kind of bottom.. It won't spook em this way
