Default Places to ride dirt bikes?

My seven year old and I ride dirt bikes and I was wondering if anyone new of anywhere not too far from lake Charles to ride. We've been to cravens but I was wondering if there was anywhere else. Open to trail riding or motocross. We also have a camper so I'm open to that too if necessary. Thanks

Sandstone trail in the Kisatchie N.F.- Kisatchie Ranger district. Also known as "Red Dirt" trails. Located about 12 miles off of I-49 at mm 120. It is located in a very beautiful and geographically unique area of the state. There are several camping areas, some with toilets and water faucets (not hook-ups though). I ran those trails in the 70's/80's and recently ran them on a Polaris RZR. Very fun riding with rocky area/creek crossings and a beautiful creek (Kisatchie Bayou) that runs though the area. Google Sandstone...aw heck....go here- http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/kisat...4829&actid=104

those trails at kisatchie would be very sketchy for a 7 year old. theyre full of stumps and holes and mud and trees.

I've rode red dirt some. The hard pack clay and rock ares are nice for a bike. The areas with loose white sand suck though. One thing to consider about red dirt if ya gona take your little is that it is a by-directional trail. You'll meet oncoming traffic. Just something to think about.

Forest hill, but the single track side where no 4 wheelers are allowed.Nice flowing trails and they are working the trails now preparing them for the national enduro. One of the best single track trails in our area. PM for details.

Natty...if u ever wanna go have a blast and make a little trip....this place is fantastic for families to ride and hangout. It's all about biking etc. I used to work in floresville which is 20mim southeast of San Antonio. This place is setup for weekend and weeklong stays, campers, cabins, kid tracks to pro levels.
