Default Trinity River Pigs

Made the first trip of the year with my La. Camp neighbors 3/7- 3/9.
Water was pretty low, but we managed a few nice ones.
The two biggest of the group were 47 and 50. We had a 37, 30, and numerous 10-15's. Anything over 15 was tagged and released.
Cold, Rain, and nasty every day. All caught on limb lines with live Perch. Water temp 47 degrees in 6-20 feet of Water.

Dang! I want to try doing that! What kind of areas do you look for? What's the makeup of the tackle?

Holes, felled trees , etc.
When the water comes up, tie onto a root ball
Line has 4 hooks and 3-5# weight on the end.
First 3 are 7/0, last one is a 9/0.
Tared twine #96 for main line and #36 for staging.
If you catch a 2-3# Blue (turn around), bait him on that 9/0 for Big Opps. Last year we ran a line that had a 5# blue caught on that last hook, and all of its skin was gone from a big Opp trying to get it down.
